Studied voice at the Australian National University;
attended the Yorke Trust Summer Opera Company in Norfolk, UK in 2003.
Winner – Marianne Mathy Scholarship, 2008; awarded the Nelly Apt Scholarship and received the audience-determined Foster Award, during the Australian National Singing Competition.
Kent McIntosh began his professional musical life as a full time French Horn player in the Royal New Zealand Navy Band.
